Digital transformation is defined as the transition of a business from traditionally manual processes to a business that puts technology at the core of its business processes and functions. Human Resource (HR) digital transformation is the process of changing operational (manual) HR processes into automated data-driven processes. For HR digital transformation to be successful it has to involve the whole organization. HR digital transformation is not just about transforming the operations of HR but it is also about transforming the workforce and the way work is done.


Digital transformation has been a topic of discussion for decades. The number of experts, conferences, webinars, training, articles, blogs, and discussion about the topic is countless. The unexpected nature of COVID-19 has thrown many businesses and HR departments into disarray.


The workplace and the way we work had to drastically change almost overnight. Business continuity plans could not anticipate the extent of these changes. COVID-19 has shone a bright light on the status of HR digitization as well as exposed the digital transformation gap in thousands of businesses.
